The Alumni Association of CEG 1990 was established in 2015 as a Society with registered office at Mahbubani Towers, Flat No. B7, 48, North Boag Road, T Nagar, Chennai – 600017, Republic of India (hereinafter called Knowledge Foundation) and is committed to promoting and advancing the lives of economically challenged students of College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai (CEG), to achieve their fullest potential through learning and knowledge enhancement. Membership is lifetime; all members are part of the CEG 1990 family and are regularly encouraged to attend and engage in college campus activities. An elected Board is responsible for the operation.

Knowledge Foundation helps financially disadvantaged students of CEG by providing:

The foundation was founded shortly after the 25th-year college reunion of the Class of 1990 to support the greater community of CEG, reflecting the members' aspiration to make a positive contribution to society. Giving back to the community and the institution that helped the members succeed is a value the members of the Society share and a privilege they embrace. The mission was to fully sponsor financially needy students who have successfully been selected into CEG despite all the financial challenges.

Knowledge Foundation strives to develop outstanding links with the business community and to engage with thousands of companies and organizations that would provide employment opportunities for students graduating from college, provide summer training programmes during the course, and projects for the final year students.

Knowledge Foundation expanded from its modest beginnings in the first year when it assisted only three students. The academic year of 2023-24, we have added 65 new students, with 155 currently benefiting from the foundation and taking the overall tally to 180 in eight years.

The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members. The foundation has effectively developed a system to discover and evaluate disadvantaged students and meet their needs for their studies.
